In our center, studies are carried out to improve the functionality of individuals with chronic mental disorders within the framework of the Community-Based Mental Health Model.

In general terms, the scope of our work; Rehabilitation, which aims to empower individuals with chronic mental disorders and integrate them with the society, is to carry out plans, programs and studies related to gaining and supporting psychosocial skills, evaluation of disease conditions, arranging and monitoring their treatments, as well as organizing activities to raise awareness of the society in the field of mental disorders.

The aim of our center is to reach and record patients with chronic mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia and Similar Psychotic Disorders and Mood Disorders (Bipolar Disorder) living in our city, and to reintegrate the patients into society by providing regular follow-up, treatment and rehabilitation.

Thus, patients who come to the hospital only when they are sick, and who are hospitalized involuntarily, mostly by family force or by police force, continue to the community mental health center after discharge, preventing them from leaving the treatment. Hospitalizations are often not required or the hospitalization rate is severely reduced in patients who do not break away from treatment and whose treatments are followed up by the Community Mental Health Center team.

In our center, patients are taught how to cope with their illness with psychoeducation, and families learn how to support their patients with Family Education. Rehabilitation studies are carried out with Occupational Treatments such as Social Skills Training and handicrafts, and the patients are rehabilitated in their own environment and reintegrated into the society.

All services are provided free of charge in our center, which operates under the Mardin State Hospital. In our center, service is provided by a team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Health Officers and Social Workers.
WHAT ARE THE SERVICES OF THE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER?

In our center, one person from the TRSM team is assigned as a Consultant for each client, and as a result of the evaluations, a Care Plan is prepared and followed up in line with the wishes and needs of the individual.

While counseling and regular follow-up are essential in the care plan, some rehabilitation services are provided. Rehabilitation Services offered by Mardin TRSM are as follows:
1) Individual Counseling Services

Within the scope of consultancy service;

- Priority individual goals are determined in the care plan by taking the future expectations of the individual and the views of the family.

- The client's adherence to treatment, level of insight, living conditions, nutrition and sleep habits, self-care skills, social functionality are evaluated by the Consultant and the TRSM Responsible Physician. Rehabilitation goals are developed after their needs are identified in these matters.

- Control appointments are arranged by taking into account the nature of the targets, the course of the disease, the risk of exacerbation and the means of transportation to the center.

- Those who cannot come to their control and need close support for treatment are called by phone or a home visit is planned.

- Collaboration with institutions is ensured when needed.

2) Psychoeducation:

The fact that the counselees better recognize the disorders that require treatment for many years positively affects the adaptation processes and the course of the disease. It is aimed for the clients to understand what their distress means and to know what to do at the point of treatment. Realizing that what they are experiencing is not something to be ashamed of or hide, clients look to the future with hope. For this purpose, psychoeducational groups are formed.

3)Family Education:

Family support is one of the main factors affecting the course of the disease. Disorders bring serious burdens to the individual as well as to his/her family. Informing families about mental disorders at the meetings held and meeting and sharing with other families in their own situation reduces the feelings of loneliness and helplessness they experience.

4) Spiritual Social Skills Training:

This program is a psychosocial treatment program that combines Social Skills Education with spiritual education, includes Family Education and uses Group Therapy techniques. It includes objectives such as gaining communication, problem solving and social adaptation skills.

5) Interactive Group Therapy:

In Interactive Group Therapies, it is aimed that the clients develop their skills of expressing themselves, sharing and empathizing.

6) Mobile Team Service:

Not able to attend the controls regularly; who cannot be contacted through himself, his relatives or social circle; Mobile Team is planned for cases that require observation and support in residence.

7) Occupational Therapy:

Occupational and Occupational Therapy aims to improve, strengthen and increase the performance of the person in determined activities and tasks in order to improve and maintain health, correct and reduce pathology; It is a science and an art that provides participation in learning the skills and functions necessary for adaptation and productivity.

The purpose of Occupational and Occupational Therapy; is to help clients reach the maximum level for an independent life by developing their current capacities.

For this purpose, Jewelry Design and Wood Painting etc. for FREE in our center. courses are held.

8) Social Work Interventions:

When there are social problems that affect the rehabilitation of the counselee, referrals and social work interventions are carried out to the extent possible.

9) Social Awareness and TRSM Promotion Activities:
